Pour leur grand retour, les Spice Girls, sans Victoria Beckham, ont réuni vendredi soir 58.000 spectateurs au Croke Park de Dublin (Irlande). Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Mel Brown et Mel C ont livré un show salué par certains fans, critiqué par d'autres en raison d'une qualité de son médiocre.
Fer de lance du phénomène des «girls band» au milieu des années 90, le groupe a repris pendant la soirée ses principaux tubes comme «Wannabe», «Say you'll be there» ou «2become1». Geri Horner a profité de ce retour pour rendre homage à sa célèbre robe «Union Jack» : l'une des tenues qu'elle avait choisie reprenait en effet les motifs et les couleurs du drapeau du Royaume-Uni.
